Brief CV

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Before becoming an employee of the Department of Plant Ecology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, I worked at the Białowieża Geobotanical Station of the University of Warsaw under the direction of Professor Janusz Bogdan Falinski, at the management of the Tatra National Park in Zakopane, in the Department of Geobotany and Nature Conservation at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Silesia in Katowice and at the Institute of Botany PAS in Cracow. My scientific activity is connected with mountain forests of the Tatra Mountains, Babia Góra, Silesian Beskids and in the Polana Massif in central Slovakia. I have also conducted research in lowland forests of the Białowieża and Niepołomice Primeval Forests. I initiated the establishment of several forest nature reserves: in the Białowieża Primeval Forest, in Silesian Beskid and in northern Mazovia. I am a co-author of the protection plans for a dozen or so forest reserves in Silesian and Żywiec Beskids, as well as the protection plan for the Babia Góra National Park. I am a member of the State Council for Nature Protection and scientific councils of two national parks: Babia Gora National Park and Saint Cross National Park.
